What an absolute dream and honour to collaborate with my dear friend and mentor, @diamondsbyfaith, on some special invitations for the opening of her second Australian boutique at The Strand, Sydney. For those who don’t already know, Faith is the visionary creative director behind @faithjewelsmaison. Her talent and passion are unmatched, earning her three prestigious awards at this year’s Milano Jewellery Week and a loyal clientele from around the globe. Faith pours all her love, care and attention into every bespoke piece, leaving a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to meet her.
Over the years, I have been fortunate to have her create my engagement ring and our wedding bands. Years later, I also asked her to redesign a family heirloom. Without fail, and with so much kindness, she has brought my vision to life. When speaking to Faith, I’ve never felt like “just another client.” Each studio visit not only meant being surrounded by beautiful designs and gems, but it also made it clear that Faith invests in people’s stories. For me, this meant discussing ideas, dreams, ambitions, and struggles. Every time I walked away, I felt inspired and motivated to pursue my own business in bespoke art. So when her team reached out to collaborate, it meant more than anyone could ever know. To have the people you respect and admire feel aligned with you is everything.
About the Design
The Strand Ring is a one-of-a-kind @faithjewelsmaison jewel inspired by the heritage building, The Strand Arcade, and its jewel-toned stained glass. It only makes sense that our bespoke artwork emulates the beauty of both creations.
I had the pleasure of designing bespoke invitations for Faith’s VIP and media guests and was so flattered to be entrusted with such a special event, as well as given so much creative freedom. When brainstorming the design, I wanted to capture the essence of her new studio, which is so evocative of the place in which it resides.
Drawing inspiration from the stunning architecture of @strandarcade and its vibrant stained glass, I was immediately reminded of Faith’s exquisite jewellery sketches, beautifully rendered in watercolour. Blending these elements felt like the perfect way to create a piece that reflects her unique style and the essence of her new boutique.
Faith Jewels x Koi
To top off this amazing opportunity, I was also asked to create chocolate inserts for Faith’s collaboration with @koidb . Koi Dessert Bar (by none other than ex Masterchef contestant Reynold Poernomo), created custom chocolate treats which are crafted to mirror her unique jewels; The Wave Ring and The Rainbow Ring which are a part of her inspiring Elements series. What a thrill to be part of producing some chocolate inserts to showcase both creations ✨
